Last night I made a post on Facebook about my wonderful day. I could make another one just like it tonight. I took some old bale twine out and strung a support in front of all the gorgeous sunflowers we had grow up this year so the wind can't topple them. Surprised by how big the cucumbers are that are growing with them. The snow peas are loaded with blossoms; a few more overnight rains and we'll have another bumper picking. Then I gathered thyme and basil; put the thyme out on a tray to dry and the basil is hung. Part of the basil was used in an experiment - I'm infusing it into some vodka (maybe I should have added a pinch of the cilantro I've been harvesting). Also started some vanilla and coffee infused vodka which the two of us will dutifully shake for the next 4-6 weeks. Thought about trying some cucumber but think it's too subtle a taste for the vodka infusion. Seasoned some steaks for tomorrow night when my sweet honeyman will be off and then cleaned a little more of the cilantro I harvested a couple of days ago. My soft and comfortable old friends, Mira and Keller, were there to keep me company while we which watched the soft fireworks again. I truly think that fireflies are the origin of "faerie tales". With their upright posture, they look like a fairy in flight. I don't know if this is the correct use of a blog but it will be how it's used at RappWorks. We seldom do things in the ordinary way at our house anyhow so it'll will do for us. As I said last night, I wish you all a day like mine or one that makes you just as happy, content and at peace with God's world.
